A flexible overhead sorter unscrambles, orients, and feeds tubular containers down a vertical chute, oriented cavity down, into a vertical operating belt arrangement.
Containers travel along the topside of the vertical belt arrangement where an integrated Marconi Data Systems Videojet applies a code to the bottom of the container while it is still upside down. An Aquity vision system inspects for code presence.
Tablets are sorted, counted and fed into two containers simultaneously. Tablet quality is vision inspected with rejects removed from the process.
Caps are sorted from a vibratory feeder bowl with dual lane exit tracks where they are removed and placed onto the containers. At the next two subsequent stations, the caps are prestarted onto the container and then tightened down.
Label code is validated and label presence on the container is verified by means of the Aquity vision system.
All operations are verified subsequent to application, prior to performing the next task. Failure to complete the task within acceptable parameters results in termination of all subsequent tasks and ejection into an appropriate reject receptacle, which guarantees the only acceptable product is collected.
