In line servo driven intermittent/continuous motion carriage equipped with customer supplied heat seal tooling transports the product through the various placement locations.
The carriage design provided by Farason was a second generation redesign of a customer’s existing in-house older machine design.
Farason’s task in Phase 1 was to incorporate newer technology and provide a completed detailed drawing package for the customer along with building eight machines.
The Phase 1 systems incorporated intermittent motion Thiele pick and place devices to remove top and bottom cards from a magazine and place them down into the tooling.
The process utilized manual placement of blister packs, with any folding done automatically prior to heat sealing and manual removal of the completed product.
The Phase 2 systems incorporated various technologies to increase speed plus the addition of a robotic unloader for product removal.
An ABB IRB360 FlexPicker was integrated by Farason to remove product of multiple sizes presented in multiple arrays.
